What we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

This website is run by the Tech Innovation Awards secretariat. We decide how and why your personal data is used here. For any privacy question or request, contact anaphtal@digitaleconomymag.com.

We handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, where it applies, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation.

2. What we collect and why

  • Award entries: name, company, job title, email, phone, website, category, your description, and the files you upload. We use these to assess your entry, contact you about it and run the awards. Our legal basis is taking the steps you ask for by entering, and our legitimate interest in running a fair programme.
  • Contact messages: name, email, subject and message. We use these to reply to you, based on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
  • Site statistics (only with your consent): pages visited, the website that referred you, device type, country, and a code that changes daily. We use these to understand and improve the site. Your consent is our legal basis, and you can withdraw it at any time.
  • Service records: our hosting provider may process technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and secure the site.

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

Strictly necessary items don't need consent. Optional items stay off unless you turn them on. Rejecting them doesn't stop you using the site or entering the awards.

You can change your mind at any time: . Turning the map off stops it loading, but cookies Google has already set must be cleared in your browser.

4. How long we keep data

We keep entries and contact messages for as long as we need them to run the awards and deal with any follow-up, then delete them or make them anonymous. Site statistics are kept only as long as they're useful for reporting on the site. You can ask us to delete your data sooner, using the contact details above.

5. Who we share it with

We use trusted providers that process data for us, only to run this site:

  • Vercel: website hosting and storage of uploaded files
  • Neon: database
  • Hostinger: email
  • Cloudinary: delivery of website images (your browser requests them directly)
  • Google: the venue map, only if you allow it

Judges and secretariat staff see entries as needed to assess them. Some providers may process data outside your country, including in the UK, EU and United States. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Contact anaphtal@digitaleconomymag.com.

You can also complain to a regulator. In Nigeria that is the Nigeria Data Protection Commission; in the EU and UK it is your local data protection authority.

7. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if our practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
